Texas Kali Challenge is
finished
Congratulations to everyone who participated in
the Texas Kali Challenge for 2005! Great job and thank you for
being a part of it. I hope this created some momentum in your
training and gave you increases fitness, endurance and coordination in
the process.
Please email me to confirm that you finished on
time and include your name as you would like to see it listed on your
certificate and Texas Kali Challenge page. I will email your
certificates for printing as soon as I can.
For those of you who have not finished, don't
stop! Finish all 10,000 on your own. Even if you missed the
deadline you can still reach your goal. The Challenge is for you,
not anyone else.
T-shirts
Also, I don't have enough interest in the
T-shirts yet to print them. Maybe some of you wanted to be sure
you finished before asking. Anyway, they are available to anyone
who wants oneI need about 15 more to cover the expenses. Please
let me know ASAP. You can order more than 1 to help me get
there. Just let me know your size and I will contact you later for
payment. I intend to print the hammer and anvil artwork on the
center chest of a red T-shirt.
Next year
I hope to have another Challenge next year with
maybe some changes to the challenge itself. Let me know if you
have any ideas and give me some feedback. Just post them in the
forum or send an email.

Texas Kali Challenge T-shirts Anyone?
Some of you have asked about this. How many of you are interested in me printing shirts for us? I think if we get about 20 at least then I can do it.
Probably about $15 per shirt.
Please email me or let me know somehow, so I can get the ball rolling.
Also, tell me your size. I'll confirm with everyone beforehand.

More of our Brothers Join in
I continue to get emails and calls from people
joining us all in the Challenge! It's great to have us all
together. Recently, I heard from more brothers in several of the previously
mentioned places as well as:
Finland and the Philippines
Our heroes of the Philippine Force Recon
Marines will be with us too! Welcome aboard everyone.

Groups across the USA join
So far the response has been great!
Already we have brave groups accepting the Texas Kali Challenge from
several states:
Texas, Ohio, California, Indiana, Arizona,
Louisiana, North Carolina
Thanks guys! That's awesome.
Number of Strikes and mechanics
Many of you have asked if it is possible to do
more! This is great, but it is not intended to be a competition
with anyone, but yourself. Completing the 10,000 is just a
starting point and the exercise can become a routine once the challenge
is over. If you need more challenge, it would be better to
increase the intensity and speed of your movements. Bend
your knees more. Hit harder! Choose more challenging
combinations and exercises.
What counts?
Although it is very important to integrate
footwork and striking, you can only take credit for one at a time.
Either do the footwork and striking separately or do them both and count
one or the other.
